Think a Thought

When was the last time you intentionally did nothing but think.  Not a time that you were “bored” and had nothing to do.  But a time that you specifically set aside to just be alone with your thoughts?

To get to the point, when was the last time you thought deeply or critically about something?  The purpose of this post is a simple one; spend some time forming thoughts that come from your own mind and not thoughts that have just been stimulated by something you are being entertained by.

Think about why you do the things you do
Think about why you have the friends you have
Think about what you could/should be doing differently
Think about why you care about the people you care about
Think about what you would do if you only had a year to live
Think about what it really means to love people

This type of thinking will most likely breed creativity that can be expressed through writing, drawing, painting, sculpting, music (anything!).  So i would encourage you to not try and tame it.

This type of thinking might also breed a quest for more knowledge on a certain subject of personal interest that you discover you actually do not know much about…go for it!  First, go to the Bible and see what it has to say about the subject.  You cannot go wrong starting with scripture!

Your brain is one of the most powerful things in the world, and that is no accident. Use it.

-Make sure to come back next week for a special guest post!
